Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Venezuela with 47175 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 30% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood and endocrine disease were the highest types of death causes in Venezuela.

  • Three Major factors of death in Venezuela are High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood sugar. Every year around 426 people die due to High blood pressure.
  • Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
  • Outdoor air pollution and Iron deficiency are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
  • Alcohol use, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood pressure are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
  • High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High blood sugar are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
  • High blood pressure is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.

Cancer Analysis


0.75% of Venezuela population was suffering from cancer i.e. 178435 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Prostate cancer (Count : 2821) and Stomach cancer was also concerning with 2451 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 3% of survival chance.Venezuela was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 97% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 81661 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 46676 were suffering from Prostate cancer out of which 2821 people were dead.
