Major Cause of Death


Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Uzbekistan with 113968 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 57% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood and endocrine disease were the highest types of death causes in Uzbekistan.

  • We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 83236 deaths (year 2016).
  • 42.47% kids below age 5 years die because of Lower respiratory infections.
  • Lower respiratory infections, Cancers and Road accidents are the major cause of death in kids aged 5 - 14 years.
  • Cardiovascular disease, Cancers and Liver disease are the major cause of death in people aged 14 - 49 years.
  • Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood, and endocrine diseases are the major cause of death in people aged over 50 years.

Major Risk Factors of Death


  • Three Major factors of death in Uzbekistan are High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High cholesterol. Every year around 59 people die due to High blood pressure.
  • Child wasting and Low birth weight are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
  • Outdoor air pollution and Household air pollution are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
  • High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and Alcohol use are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
  • High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High total cholesterol are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
  • High blood pressure is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.

Cancer Analysis


0.27% of Uzbekistan population was suffering from cancer i.e. 57506 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Stomach cancer (Count : 2244) and Breast cancer was also concerning with 1686 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 14% of survival chance.Uzbekistan was really successful in diagnosing Non-melanoma skin cancer where 97% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 28143 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 3673 were suffering from Stomach cancer out of which 2244 people were dead. This means 61.09% death rate of people suffering from Stomach cancer. This below data represents major cancer types in Uzbekistan and number of deaths due to particular cancer types :
