Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in United Arab Emirates with 9016 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 37% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Road incidents and Cancers were the highest types of death causes in United Arab Emirates.

  • Three Major factors of death in United Arab Emirates are High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High blood sugar. Every year around 20 people die due to High body-mass index (obesity).
  • Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
  • Iron deficiency and Alcohol use are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
  • High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High total cholesterol are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
  • High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood sugar are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
  • High blood sugar is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.

Cancer Analysis


0.32% of United Arab Emirates population was suffering from cancer i.e. 12712 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Colon & rectum cancer (Count : 306) and Breast cancer was also concerning with 265 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 0% of survival chance.United Arab Emirates was really successful in diagnosing Thyroid cancer where 98% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 6117 people were of age group 15-49 year olds.In 2016, 1900 were suffering from Colon & rectum cancer out of which 306 people were dead. This means 16.11% death rate of people suffering from Colon & rectum cancer.
