Major Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Saint Lucia with 384 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 33% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood and endocrine disease were the highest types of death causes in Saint Lucia.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 631 deaths (year 2016).
- 64.52% kids below age 5 years die because of Neonatal disorders.
- Road accidents, Cancers and Drowning are the major cause of death in kids aged 5 - 14 years.
- Cancers, Cardiovascular disease and Homicide are the major cause of death in people aged 14 - 49 years.

Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in Saint Lucia are High blood pressure, High blood sugar and High body-mass index (obesity). Every year around 2 people die due to High blood pressure.
- Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Iron deficiency and Outdoor air pollution are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
- Alcohol use, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood pressure are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
- High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High blood sugar are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.

Cancer Analysis
0.63% of Saint Lucia population was suffering from cancer i.e. 1122 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Prostate cancer (Count : 46) and Breast cancer was also concerning with 20 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancerGallbladder & biliary tract cancer have 0% of survival chance.Saint Lucia was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 100% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 464 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 384 were suffering from Prostate cancer out of which 46 people were dead.
