Major Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in United States Virgin Islands with 503 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 39% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood and endocrine disease were the highest types of death causes in United States Virgin Islands.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 796 deaths (year 2016).
- 62.5% kids below age 5 years die because of Neonatal disorders.

Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in United States Virgin Islands are High blood pressure, High blood sugar and High body-mass index (obesity). Every year around 1 people die due to High blood pressure.
- Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Unsafe sex and Outdoor air pollution are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.

1.87% of United States Virgin Islands population was suffering from cancer i.e. 2964 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Prostate cancer (Count : 59) and Colon & rectum cancer was also concerning with 42 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 0% of survival chance.United States Virgin Islands was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 100% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 1373 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 1214 were suffering from Prostate cancer out of which 59 people were dead. This means 4.86% death rate of people suffering from Prostate cancer.
