Major Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Switzerland with 23058 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 35% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Dementia were the highest types of death causes in Switzerland.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 53301 deaths (year 2016).

Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in Switzerland are High blood pressure, Smoking and High cholesterol. Every year around 10 people die due to High blood pressure.
- Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Alcohol use and Iron deficiency are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
- Alcohol use, Smoking and Drug use are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.

Cancer Analysis
1.29% of Switzerland population was suffering from cancer i.e. 160578 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Colon & rectum cancer (Count : 1709) and Prostate cancer was also concerning with 1513 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Pancreatic cancer have 8% of survival chance.Switzerland was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 99% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 78284 people were of age group 70+ year olds.In 2016, 21682 were suffering from Colon & rectum cancer out of which 1709 people were dead.
