Major Cause of Death
Cancers was a major cause of death in South Korea with 102154 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 31% of total deaths. Overall Cancers, Cardiovascular diseases and Dementia were the highest types of death causes in South Korea.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 226096 deaths (year 2016).
- 43.95% kids below age 5 years die because of Neonatal disorders.
- Cancers, Road accidents and Suicide are the major cause of death in kids aged 5 - 14 years.

Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in South Korea are High blood sugar, Smoking and High blood pressure. Every year around 186 people die due to High blood sugar.
- Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Alcohol use and Iron deficiency are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
- Alcohol use, Smoking and High body-mass index (obesity) are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
- Smoking, High blood sugar and Alcohol use are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
- High blood sugar is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.

Cancer Analysis
0.94% of South Korea population was suffering from cancer i.e. 587433 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Liver cancer (Count : 16292) and Stomach cancer was also concerning with 15047 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Pancreatic cancer have 9% of survival chance.South Korea was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 99% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 249651 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 35099 were suffering from Liver cancer out of which 16292 people were dead.
