Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Saudi Arabia with 32970 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 37% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Road incidents were the highest types of death causes in Saudi Arabia.

  • Three Major factors of death in Saudi Arabia are High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood sugar. Every year around 152 people die due to High blood pressure.
  • Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
  • Outdoor air pollution and Unsafe water source are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
  • High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High total cholesterol are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
  • High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High blood sugar are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
  • High blood pressure is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.

0.32% of Saudi Arabia population was suffering from cancer i.e. 54992 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Colon & rectum cancer (Count : 1233) and Breast cancer was also concerning with 897 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 5% of survival chance.Saudi Arabia was really successful in diagnosing Thyroid cancer where 99% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 21360 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 8379 were suffering from Colon & rectum cancer out of which 1233 people were dead.
