Major Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Kuwait with 2704 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 42% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Road incidents were the highest types of death causes in Kuwait.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 50-69 with 2345 deaths (year 2016).
- 46.27% kids below age 5 years die because of Congenital birth defects.
- Road accidents, Cancers and Lower respiratory infections are the major cause of death in kids aged 5 - 14 years.
- Cardiovascular disease, Road accidents and Cancers are the major cause of death in people aged 14 - 49 years.
- Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Diabetes, blood, and endocrine diseases are the major cause of death in people aged over 50 years.
- Overall, it's observed that 50% of people aging over 50 years die because of Cardiovascular diseases.
Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in Kuwait are High blood pressure, High body-mass index (obesity) and High cholesterol. Every year around 3 people die due to High blood pressure.
- Low birth weight and Outdoor air pollution are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Outdoor air pollution and Secondhand smoke are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
- High body-mass index (obesity), High total cholesterol and High blood pressure are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
- High body-mass index (obesity), High blood pressure and High total cholesterol are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.
- High blood pressure is the major death risk factors for people aging more than 70 years.
Cancer Analysis
0.45% of Kuwait population was suffering from cancer i.e. 7091 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Breast cancer (Count : 146) and Colon & rectum cancer was also concerning with 113 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Esophageal cancer have 5% of survival chance.Kuwait was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 99% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 3508 people were of age group 50-69 year olds.In 2016, 2986 were suffering from Breast cancer out of which 146 people were dead. This means 4.89% death rate of people suffering from Breast cancer. This below data represents major cancer types in Kuwait and number of deaths due to particular cancer types :
