Major Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases was a major cause of death in Ireland with 10159 registered deaths (in year 2016) i.e. 33% of total deaths. Overall Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers and Dementia were the highest types of death causes in Ireland.
- We see the maximum number of deaths is seen in age group 70+ with 22563 deaths (year 2016).
- 43.64% kids below age 5 years die because of Congenital birth defects.
- Cancers, Road accidents and Diabetes, blood, and endocrine diseases are the major cause of death in kids aged 5 - 14 years.

Major Risk Factors of Death
- Three Major factors of death in Ireland are High blood pressure, Smoking and High blood sugar. Every year around 2 people die due to High blood pressure.
- Low birth weight and Child wasting are the major risk factor of kids death aging under 5 years.
- Alcohol use and Secondhand smoke are the major risk factors of death of people aging between 5 to 14 years.
- Alcohol use, Drug use and Smoking are the death risk factors of people aging between 15 to 49 years.
- Smoking, High blood pressure and Alcohol use are the major death risk factors of people aging between 50 to 69 years.

Cancer Analysis
1.35% of Ireland population was suffering from cancer i.e. 73041 people (average of years 2011-2016). Highest number of cancer patients deaths were recorded due to Colon & rectum cancer (Count : 1130) and Breast cancer was also concerning with 718 deaths in a year. In last few years it has been observed that, people suffering from Liver cancer have 18% of survival chance.Ireland was really successful in diagnosing Testicular cancer where 99% of people were cured.Highest number of cancer patients i.e. 31048 people were of age group 70+ year olds.In 2016, 10797 were suffering from Colon & rectum cancer out of which 1130 people were dead.
